An exploratory
trip was made in 2000 to Moscow, Tula and to Volgograd to look at
the possibility of developing a program centered on using character
as a theme for young people majoring in business at local schools
and universities. An on-site visit was made to Volgograd State
Pedagogical University in Volgograd. The initial trips were
scheduled through Moscow. Here is a picture of the Church of
St. Basil located in the Red Square near the Kremlin in
Moscow. Our initial visit consisted of two day trip to Tula,
the home of Leo Tolstoy, to talk with the Director of the Public
Schools about introducing a curriculum of character development into
the system. Traveling by train back to Moscow, we then
continued on to Volgograd. In Volgograd we talked with the
Dean of the Economics Faculty at Volgograd State Pedagogical
University about developing a curriculum that would focus upon the
importance of personal character in business. |
