Ministries Through the Business Center

Ukraine

In 2003 Dr. Hebert was invited by Igor Kozlovsky of the Donetsk State Institute of Artificial Intelligence to conduct a one week seminar at their Institute located in Donetsk, Ukraine.  The audience for the seminar was to be students from the Philosophy & Religion Faculty and from the Economics Faculty.  In this picture students from Harding University are participating in a local market of goods being sold by vendors from the city and from the Donbas Region within which Donetsk is located.

Based on the level of interest from both faculty and administration at the Institute together with the participation of their students in the pilot program, the Dr. Hebert of the College of Business Administration (COBA) at  Harding University, began developing a seminar titled, “The Importance of Personal Character in Business.”  Materials were written for the seminars that were translated into Russian through efforts of Eastern European Missions of Houston, Texas.  This year—2007—will be the fifth year that the seminar has been offered to students at the Institute in Donetsk.  Each year students from COBA have traveled to be an integral part of the seminar and to use the friendships they establish to begin Bible studies.

In addition to the work that the students perform at the seminar, they have also engaged in working with selected orphanages while in Donetsk, providing basic necessities through their own fund raising campaigns.
