In May I had contacted Eric Pizana, the Community Outreach Director at the Care and Share Food Bank, to see what kind of needs Care and Share currently had and if any of those needs could be met by Marco’s. Eric told me that it would be helpful if Marco’s could run a virtual food drive for a couple of weeks, so we set that up. Craig made up some boxtoppers to glue onto the pizza boxes to spread the word and the virtual drive was publicized on the Marco’s facebook page. The virtual food drive ran from July 18 – 31, but there was a glitch that was no discovered until July 27th, so donations could not actually be processed until July 27th. So, from July 27th – July 31st, $114.40 was still raised through the virtual food drive, set up at http://careandshare.org/marcospizza/.
