Ukraine
2005
It was
3:00am in the morning and the whole Ukraine crew was at the back of
the business building in Harding University. As excited as we could
be, we all got our luggage in the bans, jumped in, and went on our
way to Little Rock’s airport. At the airport after checking our
bags, as our first group activity, we decided that we were going to
take a nap. Dr Hebert, who for some reason was full of energy even
that early in the morning had to wake us all up, because we were all
out. And from that moment on our airborne trip started. We went from
Little Rock to Detroit, which was our connection flight before
heading to Amsterdam, Netherlands. On that flight we enjoyed of
eight hours of flight and lots of food. From Amsterdam, we head to
Vienna and from Vienna we took our last connection, which final
destination was Donetsk, Ukraine. |

Once in Ukraine, every day before
going to the seminar, we had breakfast as a group. This part of the day
was one of the most exciting parts of the day. We all got to share our
experiences, we had a small bible study, but most of all, every body got
to show off our new Russian language skills. Afterwards, we got ready
and head to the Institute of Artificial Intelligence, which was the
school were the seminar was conducted. The seminars lasted till one in
the afternoon and when we finished we always went all around the city
accompanied by the majority of the students that were receiving the
seminar. On Sunday we got the chance to go to church were we had the
excellent experience of listening to the message in both English and
Spanish. We also went to visit the kids at the orphanage, an activity
that moved all the crews’ hearts. We spent seven incredible days in
Donetsk, and head back to Vienna. We stayed 3 days in Vienna at the
facilities of Eastern European Missions. In E.E.M, we also had the
opportunity to listen to the word of God in two languages, but now it
was in German and in English. In Austria, we just had a magical time. We
got the opportunity to visit some of the world’s most beautiful
cathedrals, visited the places were royalty use to live, such as the
Hoff burg palace, and many more. After our three wonderful days in the
city of Vienna, we packed our bags and head back to Searcy.
